The hardest part of your home marketing business is going to be letting people know about it and convincing them to spend their hard earned money with you. So you need to advertise … and if you're like me, you have to be mindful of a budget!
Now that everybody that knows you or knows of you has heard about your new business, it's time to think about advertising. So now we delve into advertising … an expensive but necessary evil. None of us likes to be advertised to … but it's via advertising that we find out about new gadgets, what's on sale, and Your Home Business! Don't let anyone talk you into throwing all of your money at advertising … if you're like most of us, you have a budget to stick by.
In short, you're going to have to work hard and be creative in finding solutions to stay within your marketing budget. Take a look at a few things that I had to learn the hard way, before you go off the deep end of advertising.
# 1 – If you don't plan and don't test … you will spend a fortune on junk advertising that doesn't work. You will be broke with no sales and ready to give up. Remember, you don't have to sacrifice your right arm and left leg to get your home marketing business out there. So come up with a solid plan of action and stick to it.
# 2 – TEST … no, I'm not going to surprise you with a pop quiz! What I mean is that you have to test an advertising source to see if it works with your business. If you just dump all your money into pay per click, print, and internet advertising … when sales do come in, how will you know what worked? In my experience, asking the customer is unreliable … either they don't remember how they found you, or they just make something up. So test … do one source of advertising at a time and measure the results so that you know what's giving you the most ROI (return on investment).
# 3 – When you know what works via testing and you have some cash flow … then perhaps start thinking about spending some more money on your advertising. More exposure may only net you a fraction of an increase in sales … keep an eye out for things like that and you will get the most out of your advertising budget.
# 4 – While you're testing one method, work on ways that are free or cheap to get your home marketing business in peoples heads so that they're thinking and talking about you. Word of mouth is a good way to spread the news … much like recommending a good movie or restaurant. Get some business cards to pass out and think about doing a press release.
Whew … there certainly is a lot to understand about advertising! And you will learn plenty more here at American Marketing University … but just understanding the basics will help things start to fall into place and put some dollars in your pocket.Immobilienmakler Heidelberg Makler Heidelberg
